I think this will be a fun little exercise in no-pressure writing. I am not a confident writer. Currently, it takes me half an hour to compose a three line email. Same with journals. And I don't even want to talk about academic stuff. Writing's just so much pressure--putting thoughts into a bunch of squiggly lines and knowing that people can look at them. I stress about correct grammar and good spelling, then I fuss over it because the whole thing sounds too formal and stuffy. So this should be a fun way to keep track of the trouble I'm getting into (no, not the trouble into which I'm getting), things that seem important and maybe some pictures if I remember to have my camera charged. Please try not to worry too much about dangling participles and run-on sentences and I'll try my best not to worry either, okay?
PS- This still took 42 minutes to write. It's a start though, no?

Great first blog entry. I'm not good at writing either. One time I took this business and technical writing class--it was dreadful. Seriously, it was worse than keeping bees in your pants long enough for them to start making honey and then wrestling five grizzly bears at once. If I could have gotten the same college credits by wrestling grizzly bears with bees and honey in my pants, I definitely would have done it. I would have even paid the same tuition. ... and supplied my own bees.
ReplyDeleteBlogs are fun though. I really like them.
I love your blog already! Don't be afraid. You have so many fun things to share and you are so amazing. It's all more interesting if you just say it in your own way anyway so toss the rules and have fun. Love you.
